"Great Games!" Book Review
Who doesn't love having a fun time with family or friends? Playing games is a great cheap way to have fun! My family loves playing games. So I was very excited to be chosen to review the book "Great Games! 175 Games & Activities For Families, Groups, and Children" by Matthew Toone. The book is filled with old time favorite games with new variations and new exciting games.
One of things that I love about this book is that all of games require minimal equipment. You can play all the games with things that you have laying around your house. The instructions are easy to read with step by step directions.
I was initially worried that I might not find fun games for my family in the book. Teenagers are a little harder to entertain. I was very happy to find some wonderful game ideas for my daughter's birthday party. I know that the Digital Scavenger Race will be a great hit at the party. Teenagers love to take pictures with their cell phones.
The "Great Games!" book really has games for all ages and abilities. Mini Bocce is fun game that even toddlers could play while games such as Duel of Words appeal to the older crowd. You can check out a sneak peek inside the book here.

Thursday Thunks 9/24
Time for fun with Thursday Thunks So here are the questions for this week:
1. Does soap or shampoo have to really lather up for you to feel that it cleaned throughly?
Yes, I think so. If it doesn't lather up then I don't feel like I am getting clean. Plus I love to with the bubbles.
2. Do you have a long standing joke with someone that you still laugh about every time you talk to that person?
I love getting together with friends and we laugh about many things. I can't think of a private joke.
3. Share something that happened to you this past week that was unusual.
My son took out the garbage without me asking. Around our house that is almost a miracle.
4. If you dropped a purple crayon and a green crayon off a roof, which would melt faster in the sun?
Obviously, the purple crayon. I have great scientific evidence to back this up. I just don't know where it is.
5. You are standing in line (grocery store, bank, etc.), and someone gets in line behind you that stinks. The stink is so bad that people in line in front of you turn around and look to see if you are the one causing the stink. Do you cover your nose, hold your breath, breathe through your mouth or just get out of line altogether?
Try to breathe through my mouth and move as quickly as possible.
6. If you dropped your cell phone in the toilet, would you fish it out? If so, how much soap would you use to wash your hands afterwards?
I would fish it out. I did actually did drop my keys in the toilet once when the toilet was flushing. I had no spare key. Luckily the keys didn't go down the drain. I used a lot of soap!!!
7. Sydney Australia dust storm (link). How long do you think it would take you to clean your house after that sort of dust storm?
Wow, dust gets in face and eyes. It can be really horrible to clean up! My house isn't clean now so I don't how long it would take to get clean after a dust storm.
8. Do you think you can dance?
No. This has been verified by many people when I have attempted to dance.
9. You are out to eat and someone across the room is staring at you. Do you get paranoid, try to ignore them, or go find out why they are staring at you?
Ignore them. Maybe they just think that I am one hot mama!
10. Come up with a crazy, wacky Thursday Thunk question
If you could be any person living or dead, who would you be?

It's Blog Hop Tuesday! This week's theme is Why Read My Blog?
OK when I saw the theme for this week, my first thought was "Ugh!!" I hate self promoting myself! Oh well, I decided to participate so here goes nothing.
Why read my blog?
1. I try to have fun in my blog! Whether it's being funny or finding something fun.
2. My blog lists great freebies and deals. Who doesn't love something for free?
3. I am a huge garage saler, ebayer, and basic money saver. I try to pass on some of my great ideas to my readers.
4. I do giveaways and reviews of products that I like myself.
5. As a mom of two teenagers, I have a different perspective than moms with younger children. I love reading funny stories and seeing cute photos of little kids on other blogs. It makes me think of when my kids were younger. But you won't find a baby stroller or toddler dress review here.
6. I post often! Usually I do several posts a day.
7. Ok, now I should say that my blog is about my readers. It's really about me. I just love sharing stuff. When I get excited because I signed up for a new freebie, my family is like "oh yeah, another free shampoo sample". But when I share my great freebie find online so others can get it too, then I feel like I am not alone in my quest of saving money. The comments that I get on my blog mean so much to me!

Meal Planning Monday Sept 21st
This week I decided to make more meals out of my freezer. Here is a photo of what I found:
Then I looked for recipes that would use what I found in the freezer. It is getting to the end of the month and I am determined to stay within my budget. My family is really busy on Mondays and Wednesdays so I am using slow cooker recipes for those two nights. I managed to find enough for dinners for the entire week!

Holiday on the Cheap: Bath & Body Works Basket
It seems like a long time until December but it will get sooner than you think. I spent part of my day taking inventory of my Christmas present stockpile.
I put together this simple and cheap Bath & Body Works basket for my niece who is in college. This is a great gift idea for any teenage girl or woman on your holiday list.
I started out with my collection of Bath & Body Works items. I looked over my baskets and containers for something to put the items into. I choose this metal pencil holder that I purchased at the Staples .01 sale. Total spent so far .01 !
Alternatively you can use any fun container or basket. Next I tried to find items that looked good in the pencil holder. I chose these items.
The nail file and ps I love you lotion were $1 each. I used a free lip item coupon with each purchase so the two Liplicious were free. The shower gel and the aromatherapy lotion were also free after any other purchase. I usually buy the nail files for $1 as my purchase item. So I will count the shower gel and aromatherapy as $1 each for cost. Total cost now is $4.01 .
I used a scrap piece of tissue paper to make to the items sit in the pencil holder better. Then I used a leftover piece of green tissue paper on top of clear gift wrap paper. I purchased the clear gift wrap paper at Michael's with a 40% off coupon. I still have a lot left and I have used it on other baskets also. I am going to count the cost at .50 for the wrap. Total cost now is $4.51 .
Alternatively you could wrap each item individually inside the basket. I tied the wrap together with ribbon saved from last year's gifts. I always save my ribbons from gifts! Cost for ribbon is .00 so the total cost of this gift is $4.51 !

Buy a cheap $1 item such as a nail files and small gift bag. Also my store had the p.s I love trial size lotion for a $1 at the checkout counter. Garage Sale Find : Would You Pay $2 For This?
So I went to some garage sales this week. I was hoping to find some great items for Christmas gifts. At a church sale, I found this centerpiece. Would you pay $2 for this?
Well, I did ! I recognized what other people had missed. Look closer at the basket that the flowers were displayed in. Would you pay $2 for a cute Longaberger basket with a plastic liner?
Yes, I purchased a Longaberger basket for $2. My sister in law loves Longaberger baskets. So now I have a wonderful Christmas gift for her.
At garage sales, take an extra minute and look over all the items for sale. You might see something that other people missed.
Sears $10 off Coupon is DEAD
OK, I hate ranting about things but I think this deserves a rant. Sears has pulled their $10 off coupon and will not accept the Internet printed copies at the store. Sears will only accept the coupon card insert from the Seventeen magazine.
This was not a fake or fraud Internet coupon. It could be printed directly from the Sears website. I am sure that Sears had too many coupons being used so they decided not to honor the coupon. That is just bad business! Message to Sears: Hire competent marketing people who know about social media and the Internet! It can't be that hard!
Sorry for the rant! For the record, I used one coupon on the first day to buy a shirt for my niece. I was hoping to go this weekend and buy a pair of leggings for my daughter. Oh, well. I guess I won't be shopping at Sears.

CSN Stores Placemat Set Review
I was very excited when I was contacted by CSN stores to do a product review. CSN has over 200 stores with more than one million products!
Now there are things that I look for when ordering online. I look for selection, service, price affordability, and quality. The service by CSN stores was impeccable. I received notification of my order when placed and again when the order was shipped. My item arrived quickly and very well packaged. The quality is outstanding. CSN stores offers products from leading companies and designers. I found that the prices are very competitive and reasonable.I received the notNeutral – Season Placemat Set from the dining room furniture store. I love them! My set included 4 placemats. Here is a photo of one of the placemats.
The placemats are constructed of Birch veneer on a thin plywood core, screen printed with a pattern, and then sealed to protect against moisture. They are easy to clean with just a damp cloth. Here is a photo of my table set up for dinner.
My experience with CSN stores was wonderful. I saw dining room furniture and other accessories that I loved. I will definitely look to CSN stores for some of my Christmas shopping!
