Power Gig: Rise of the Six String Bundle Review

Who didn't want to be a rock star when they were a kid? Power Gig: Rise of the Rock Star is first and only band video game with a real guitar as a controller! No guitar experience necessary!

The premise of the game is that the world of Ohm is in the hands of an evil empire. Music is banned and rockers are in trouble. Only you can save the world and Rock n Roll. The song list is great. It includes songs from Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews band, John Mayer, Kid Rock, Smashing Pumpkins, Snow Patrol, and more. You can check out the song list
here.

The Power Gig: Rise of the Six String bundle is available for the XBox and Playstation 3. The game bundle comes with :

• Power Gig: Rise of the SixString videogame.

• Wireless SixString Guitar Controller/Electric Guitar. Plug into any standard amp to jam with your friends when not playing the game.

• Includes guitar strap.

• Includes extra guitar strings & picks.

More product features:
• Bonus: Learn Guitar!
Power Gig can help teach basic guitar skills including how to properly press down on a string, hold a pick, and strum. In addition, you can turn on an optional chording mode that will help teach players actual guitar power chords in the songs they are playing.

• Music Makes You Smarter?
Did you know that playing music develops concentration and memory and sharpens hand-eye coordination? And according to NAMM, studies show that music enhances intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development.

• Available at Major Retailers
You can find Power Gig at major retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, ToysRUs, BJ’s, QVC, and Amazon.

• One-Stop Shopping
You can buy everything you need in one box! The band kit comes with the game and the SixString guitar controller so you can start playing right away.

• Worry-Free Fun
In a marketplace of violent video games, rest assured that Power Gig’s world of Ohm is a peaceful zone. The ESRB gave the game a T (Teen) rating, listing mild lyrics and mild suggestive themes.

My Thoughts:
I love that the game uses a real guitar. You can learn to play the guitar while playing the game. I also really liked the songs that were included for the game!

Hormel Chili & Dinty Moore Are Still Favorites

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hormel Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

I remember eating Dinty Moore stew on camping trips when I was kid. Sitting by the campfire with a big bowl of stew, it was one of the best parts of the day. I loved the Dinty Moore commercials with the cartoon lumberjack. Here is a fun video that shows some of the old hormel commercials. I loved taking a trip down memory lane.

Though the ads and the labels have changed throughout the years, the same great taste remains. Hormel continues to create new products. Now you can find the new Hormel® Chili Master™ varieties such as white chicken chili and roasted tomato, and new Dinty Moore® HeartyMeals™ varieties such as chicken pot pie and noodles and beef.

These days I still enjoy Dinty Moore stew. But like hormel has changed over the years, my favorite product has become Hormel Chili. I use Hormel chili in so many ways. Chili con Queso is a addictive chip dip that is easy to make. Another one of my favorite ways to eat Hormel Chili is the chili on top of a baked potato. With the new Hormel Chili Master Chipotle Chicken with Beans, I get a great tasting easy lunch. Did I make you hungry now? What is your favorite way to eat Hormel chili or Dinty Moore stew? Please share your thoughts. You can explore http://www.hormelrecipes.com for some more wonderful recipe ideas.

Carolina Pad Spring Break Road Trip Giveaway

Road trip anyone? I love a good road trip! Spring break is a great time to get away with a road trip vacation. Whether it is going to Disney World or just to a neighboring state, I think that getting there is half of the fun.

One year when we went to Disney World for Spring break, my daughter wanted to stop and eat every meal at Cracker Barrel. Was it the great food? No, it was the gift shop. Her grandparents were with us and every time we stopped at Cracker Barrel, they would buy her something at the gift shop. Now, years later, she laughs and says she hated the food but loved the stuffed animals.

Carolina Pad has a new collection called Road Trip. I received a Road Trip package that included the following:
• 2 Road Trip two-pocket folders
• 2 Road Trip spiral-less notebooks

My teenage daughter loved the Road Trip designs. Her biggest problem was whether she should take a matching set or mix up the colors. I love the personal notebook. It is just the right size to slip into my purse. It is great for writing down my "to do list" and grocery items. I was really impressed by the high quality of all the items that I received.

Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls Gift Pack Giveaway

During the week at my house, breakfast is "on your own". That means that everyone finds and makes their own breakfast. Since everyone has a different schedule, it is just easier that everyone can eat and run. Weekends are a different matter especially on Sundays.

On Sundays, I usually make breakfast and everyone loves when I make cinnamon rolls. I like to make Pillsbury rolls because they are fast, easy, convenient, and best of all, they taste sinfully delicious. I had not made the Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls before but they were a big hit with my family on Sunday. The taste of orange is sweet but not overpowering. The rolls didn't last long at my house! When there are no leftovers then you know that you have a winner.

Skin MD Naturral Shielding Lotion Review

Unfortunately as we get older, our skin ages too. I have problems with dry skin so I jumped at the chance to review the Skin MD Shielding lotion. Unlike regular lotions, Skin MD shields your hands from the elements. This allows your skin to heal itself with it's natural oils and moisture. The idea is that Skin MD Shielding lotion forms a protective barrier that keeps out chemicals and irritants.

I have tried the lotion for several weeks now. I have had very good results. My hands are not as dry and chapped as usual. I can see an improvement in my skin's texture. I love the fact that my hands are not sticky like when I apply regular lotion. The Skin MD bottle is small but it takes very little to cover your hand, The first time, I squeezed out a normal lotion size portion. I had way too much so I ended up applying it my arms and elbows too!

Skin MD lotion is made in the US using high quality natural ingredients making it over 90% all natural. It is free of harmful fragrances, parabens, and colorants making it hypoallergenic. Skin MD doesn't not participate in animal testing nor does the lotion contain any animal products. Nice!

If you have dry skin, I would recommend giving Skin Md Shielding Lotion a try. If you are interested, you can read more information and reviews at the
Skin MD website.

*I was provided a free bottle of Skin MD Shielding Lotion for review purposes. All opinions are my own from trying the product*

Review of Totally Toned Arms by Rylan Duggan

One of my goals for 2010 is to get in better shape physically and lose weight. I was very excited to review the book: Totally Toned Arms: Get Michelle Obama Arms in 21 Days by Rylan Duggan. Seriously, Michelle Obama has the most awesome arms. No under the arm jiggle there!

I expected the book have great exercises for my arms. The big surprise is that about 1/4 of the book is about nutrition. There were some really great ideas on how to eat healthier. As I read through the book, I was impressed with the entire program that was put together by Ryan Duggan. All of the exercises have pictures showing the moves. I found this to be extremely helpful.

From the book cover
:

• An effective 7 day quick start routine
• A simple, powerful workout plan for only 30 minutes a day
• Easy cardio and strength-training routines that benefit the whole body
• Essential diet secrets

Reduced Sugar in General Mills Cereal

Do you eat cereal for breakfast? My daughter is a fan of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I prefer the Strawberry Yogurt Burst Cherrios. I confess, though, when I was a kid, I liked Lucky Charms. But I really only ate the marshmallows!

Last week General Mills announced a commitment to reduce the sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. This builds on their continuing efforts to reduce sugar and increase key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.

I think that is wonderful news. Kids need a nutrious breakfast but commericals for high sugar cereals make them more tempting to kids. You can learn more about the
benefits of cereal including a great chart showing calories for common breakfasts.

Also right now, you can click
here to get a coupon for a $1.00 off one of four General Mills cereals.

**Thanks to My Blog Spark and General Mills for providing the information and coupons for my family.**

MySims Agents & Boom Blox Bash Party Wii Reviews

If you have a tween or teen, they probably have a video game on their wish list. My kids love the Nintendo Wii. So I was very excited to receive 2 Wii games by EA Games to review. The problem with Wii is that some games adapt well to the platform and others not so well. No one wants to waste money on a game that is going to gather dust.

My first review is of Boom Blox Bash Party. This game is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed BOOM BLOX game for Wii. It was developed by EA in collaboration with director and producer Steven Spielberg. Players have to focus on their reflexes and puzzle solving skills. Players use the Wii Remote to direct objects and forces toward structures made of blocks in order to knock them over. It sounds easy but it is so much fun. There are hundreds of levels! One of the best things is that this game be played by up to 4 players. It makes it more of a party game.
This a great game for teens and tweens!

My second review is of MySims Agents. It is easy to see why this has become a hot game for the holiday season. There is plenty of action in the game. You can investigate suspects, travel to exotic lands, and solve puzzles. You can even change the Agents outfits and decorate the secret headquarters. This game is a lot of fun to play. The puzzles may be a little too easy for older teens. If your child likes the Sims games then they would probably enjoy this game. I recommend this game for tweens and younger kids.

**I received these games for free from EA Games for review purposes. I received no other compensation. The opinions given are my own**

Ditch the Charcoal: Flamedisk Review

Do you love the charcoal flavor of the grill but hate the hassle? I am the same way. I love the charcoal flavor but I hate waiting for the coals to heat up. Plus they are messy! I was able to review a new product called Flamedisk. It is faster, easier, and cleaner than charcoal.

I was amazed at how it easy it was to use. I just peeled off the top film, lit the Flamedisk with a match, and started grilling. The Flamedisk fits in any size or shape grill. The package says that the flames last for 45 minutes.

One of the best things about Flamedisk is the portability. It is a small flat disk so it doesn't take up much space. It would be great to take for a picnic at a park or tailgating for your favorite team.

Flamedisk is not very expensive. For more information you can visit the
Flamedisk website. You can purchase Flamedisk at local stores such as Home Depot, sporting goods stores, and Hy Vee. They are also available online at Flamedisk.com or at Amazon.

**I was provided with a free Flamedisk to review. The opinions expressed here are my own**

Book Review: CODE 936

Looking for a great read? I just finished reading a new medical thrilller "Code 936 " by Bill Kimbrell. I found the book to be a fast paced adventure. From the beginning prologue, you are drawn into James Cantrill's world. James Cantrill is a hard working businessman who is unexpectedly fired. Does it have to do with the defective medical device? Who is behind it and why have his friends betrayed him? I throughly enjoyed the book!

From the back cover:
Powerfully evocative and steeped in international intrigue, CODE 936 is a riveting expose of the IRS tax code, corporate greed, medical fraud, torture, corporate corruption, and managed healthcare. It is also a story of love, undaunted courage, and a spirtual triumph.

About the Author:
Bill Kimbrell spent 31 years building his own surgical equipment business. Code 936 is his first novel. He grew up in Greenville, Mississippi and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. . During his career, he was appointed Ethics Chairman for the entire United States for his professional organization, a position he held for over twelve years. Long an advocate for integrity and ethical leadership, Mr. Kimbrell conducted ethics seminars across the country, which resulted in the first certified Code of Ethics in the medical device industry.

The book is available in paperback for $10.89 at
Amazon .

Review of Take Your Best Shot by Austen Gutwein

Take Your Best Shot by Austin Gutwein

Ages: 12-17

Price: $12.99

Put out by: Thomas Nelson

Buy
Read

I love the message in the book "Take Your Best Shot". Anyone can make a difference whether it is small or large. Austin Gutwein started with a goal to shoot baskets to raise money to help with AIDS in Africa. At nine years old, he started something that grew into Hoops for Hope and raised thousands of dollars.

Throughout the book, Austin encourages people to find their own calling. He challenges you to make a difference. I love how he talks about giving to someone is like throwing a boomerang. The giving circles around and comes back to you. This book would be great for tween and teens. Both of my kids are reading the book. What can you do to make a difference?

OraMoist Review

Did you know that dry mouth is a under-diagnosed condition that affects 10% of the U.S. population? Dry mouth (xerostomia)can have a severe effect on oral health, causing tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath due to lack of oral moisture.

Also dry mouth is a symptom of diabetes and is a common side effect of many prescription and over-the-counter medications. Diabetes run in my family so I was very interested in the OraMoist Dry Mouth Patch. While I don't have diabetes yet, my mother, aunts, and my grandmother all have type 2 diabetes.

According to the manufacturer:
OraMoist Dry Mouth Patch is a revolutionary, time-released, muco-adhesive patch powered by edible natural ingredients that adheres to the roof of the mouth or inside the cheek. As the patch dissolves over two to four hours, it releases ingredients that help increase saliva production alleviating parched, dry mouth. The increased moisture also helps restore a healthy oral environment, a significant benefit for dry mouth sufferers. OraMoist Dry Mouth Patch has been clinically proven effective in terms of increased saliva production and improved feeling of moistness.

The suggested retail price is $9.99 which is for a box of 16 patches. OraMoist is available at Rite Aid, Albertson’s LLC and Raley’s, and online at
http://www.oramoist.com/ .

Rummino Game Review & Giveaway

My family love to play games. Games are a wonderful way to spend time with your family and friends. Recently, I had the opportunity to try a new game called Rummino by Marina Games. Rummino is a new game that combines the play of Rummy and word tile games.

The game has fairly easy rules. Each player starts with 7 tiles. On each turn, a player tries to play their tiles by adding to a run (tiles in sequence) or sets (tiles of the rank). Points are detemined by how many tiles are played and bonus points for completed runs or sets. The game comes with 92 tiles, a tile bag, and a instruction sheet. The game is recommended for 2-6 players ages 8 and up.

Once you start playing the game, you realize that there is strategy involved. Sometimes playing one tile will give you moe points than playing more. My family loves playing this game. Also I had the opportunity to take some games to the I_Blog Conference to share with other Bloggers. With the holidays coming up, Rummino would be a great gift idea!

Book Review & Giveaway: 7 The Number for Happiness

Do you have a lucky number? Is it number 7? I just finished reading the book : 7 The Number for Happiness, Love, And Success. by Jacqueline Leo. The book was really fun to read. I loved all the interesting and unique facts.

From the Publisher:
What is it about the number seven that has such a hold on us? Why are there seven deadly sins? Seven days of the week? Seven wonders of the world, seven colors of the spectrum, seven ages of man, and seven sister colleges? Why can we hold seven numbers or words in our working memory--but no more? Author Jackie Leo explores everything about this mystical, magical, useful, and fun number in her new book.

SEVEN REASONS YOU NEED THIS BOOK

1. SEVEN is a tool to improve the quality of your life. It is a way to define time, synthesize ideas, and keep your mind performing at top speed in an era of distractions.

2. SEVEN is culturally significant. It pops up everywhere, structuring our world in ways so fundamental, we notice them only when we pause to look. Across the ages and across cultures, the number has acquired a huge scientific, psychological, and religious significance.

3. SEVEN is intriguing. Why, out of hundreds of recipes in a cookbook, do people return to the same seven, over and over? Why, when asked to choose a number between one and ten, does such a large majority of people choose seven? Why does it take seven rounds of shuffling to obtain a fully mixed deck of cards?

4. SEVEN is influential. You'll learn how the number seven shapes our thinking, our choices, and even our relationships.

5. SEVEN is practical. Throughout this book are Top Seven lists covering the best ways to get someone's attention, to build your personal brand, and to put yourself in the path of prosperity and good luck.

6. SEVEN is fun. You'll encounter surprising facts, intriguing puzzles, and hilarious anecdotes.

7. SEVEN is wise. You'll hear stories about the meaning of seven from Mehmet Oz, Sally Quinn, Liz Smith, Christina Ricci, and many others.

Near East Pearled Couscous Review

Have you ever eaten couscous? Ok, so maybe I live under a rock because I never had. Oh, I have seen it at the grocery store but it seemed like it would be hard to make. So when I was asked to review Near East Pearled Couscous, I was very curious to give it a try. I received a package with three different Near East Couscous products.

Wow, I didn't realize what I had been missing! I made the Basil & Herb Pearled Couscous. It was much easier to make than I thought. I was a little leery to try it because it has a weird green color. One bite and I was sold. This stuff is really good! I have added a new item to my shopping list.

Couscous is low fat and contains fiber so it is very nutrious. My favorite is the Basil & Herb Couscous. I liked the Roasted Garlic & Olive Oil Couscous but not as well. You can get a $1.00 off two Near East products coupon on their website. I recommend giving Near East Pearled Couscous a try!

Ultimate Cloth Review & Freebie

I was recently given the opportunity to review the Ultimate Cloth. The cloth has exclusive MiraFiber technology that cleans with just water.

To use the cloth, you just wet cloth thoroughly and wring out well. It is recommended that you use the cloth flat so you utilize the full benefits of the mirafiber technology. You can use it on windows, counter tops, floors, hardwoods, ceramic tile, ceramic & glass stove tops, and more.

So I put the Ultimate Cloth to the test on my large sliding glass door. With two kids and a dog, my glass door always has fingerprints and nose prints. I usually use Windex and paper towels so I intrigued to try the cloth with just water. I worked very nicely! You do have to wring out the cloth very well. My glass door came clean and was streak free.

I am trying to use more green products in my house as well as cut down on my paper product usage. I like the Ultimate Cloth because it is environmentally friendly and cheaper in the long run.

You an purchase the Ultimate Cloth
here for $6 for one or 2 for $10.

Right now, you can get a Free Ultimate Cloth for yourself. Sign up to be a fan of Ultimate Cloth on Facebook.

Here is another great gift idea for teenage girls. This the second giveaway in my MOTNET Holiday Gift Guide.
