Book Review: Redefining Beautiful by Jenna Lucado

As a mom of a teenage girl, I was very interested in reviewing the book "Redefining Beautiful : what God sees when God sees You" by Jenna Lucado. The book is published by Thomas Nelson and is geared towards 12 to 17 year olds. The book retails for $12.99. Jenna Lucado is the daughter of well known author, Max Lucado.

The book does a wonderful job of seeing the world through a teenager's eyes. Teenage girls are so concerned about how they look and what other people think of them. Self worth should not be defined by a magazine cover look. There are introspective quizzes and questions to try to get girls to think about their relationships and how they see themselves. Jenna talks about her relationship with her father and how that transfers into her relationship with God, her true father.

I loved that the book dealt with the everyday issues that teenage girls face today. Issues such as self esteem and dating. My daughter and I talk about this issues but it is great to have a book that she can read to help reinforce that she is loved for who she is. I recommend this book to teenage girls and moms of teenage girls. In today's fast paced world, girls need to be aware of their self worth and who they can really be when they have a relationship with God.

You can watch a
video of Jenna Lucado talking about her book "Redefining Beautiful". Also I want to thank Thomas Nelson and Jenna Lucado for the opportunity to review the book.
