Staples started their Cyber Monday specials today! Free Sharpie products and Duracell batteries!!
You can get $25 worth of Sharpie products for free. I tried doing this online and the coupon code was not working. I called customer service (wait time was under 2 minutes) and I was told to place my order then she would credit my credit card. The lady waited while I put through my order. I gave her the order number and she processed the credit for me. I was told that the credit would appear on my credit card within 72 hours.
I have the 2 scenarios below. The first scenario assumes the coupon will work. The 2nd scenario assumes that you have to call customer service. Also you can get the free Duracell batteries (staples rewards check) online. This is the same as the in store deal so don't do it if you got the free batteries in the store this week. You need to be a Staples reward member to get the batteries.
Here we go:
Scenario #1
1. Click here to see the Sharpies.
2. Pick your Sharpie items and add them to your cart. Try to stay close to $25. I picked the sharpie fine point 12 pack for $10.79 and the fine point retractable for $14.49 so the total was $25.28 .
3. If you want the Duracell batteries, then click here or paste the the following url : http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/products/091115/merch4350/index.html?cmArea=Promos
4. Choose from the Duracell AA or AAA 20 packs. Add to your cart. (remember 2 total)
5. In your shopping cart, click the Add/Edit coupons. Type in the code 96140 .
6. If the code works then proceed to checkout, otherwise go to Scenario 2 below.
7. At the checkout, look at your delivery cost. If it is not free shipping, then under Delivery Information, you can choose a store near you. The ship to store option is free.
8. Remember to enter your Staples rewards number if you are buying the batteries.
9. Your total should be just the cost of the batteries. Then you will get a Staples reward check back for those.
10. Any problems? Proceed to Scenario 2 where I list the customer servive phone number.
Scenario #2
1. Go through Scenario # 1 until you reach step 6.
2. Call customer service at 1-800-891-0195 then press #1 for a person.
3. Tell them that the promotional code for the Sharpies is not working and that you are ready to check out.
4. They should tell you to place your order and that they will credit you back. If your total is not over $50, choose Ship to Store under the Delivery Options to get free shipping. Remember to put in your Staples rewards number. Place your order while they wait and give them the order number.
5. I was told that my credit card would receive the refund for the Sharpies within 72 hours.
6. If you ordered the batteries then you will receive this on Staples reward check.
