Dollar General Black History Month Giveaway

February is most known for Valentine's Day but also February is Black History Month. Carter G. Woodson originally founded “Negro History Week” in 1926. This was a time when the accomplishments and history of African Americans was omitted from most history books. The celebration was chosen to be in February because it is the birthday month of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. In 1976, Negro History Week was expanded to Black History Month.
