Carolina Pad Spring Break Road Trip Giveaway

Road trip anyone? I love a good road trip! Spring break is a great time to get away with a road trip vacation. Whether it is going to Disney World or just to a neighboring state, I think that getting there is half of the fun.

One year when we went to Disney World for Spring break, my daughter wanted to stop and eat every meal at Cracker Barrel. Was it the great food? No, it was the gift shop. Her grandparents were with us and every time we stopped at Cracker Barrel, they would buy her something at the gift shop. Now, years later, she laughs and says she hated the food but loved the stuffed animals.

I was reading an article by Naomi Seldin about a new site called ThredUp. You can read Naomi's aricle by clicking here. ThredUp is a new site where can swap a box of your kids clothes for another box of clothes. Basically, you list your box of clothes and then when someone chooses it, you pay the cost to ship the box to them. In return, you get to choose a box and get it shipped to you.

Right now they are in the start up phase. According to the article, ThredUp is giving out a credit equal to on swap ($13) to the first 1000 boxes listed. You can register and then if you invite 3 friends, you can start right away. Otherwise you will remain on the wait list until you receive an invitation.

Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls Gift Pack Giveaway

During the week at my house, breakfast is "on your own". That means that everyone finds and makes their own breakfast. Since everyone has a different schedule, it is just easier that everyone can eat and run. Weekends are a different matter especially on Sundays.

On Sundays, I usually make breakfast and everyone loves when I make cinnamon rolls. I like to make Pillsbury rolls because they are fast, easy, convenient, and best of all, they taste sinfully delicious. I had not made the Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls before but they were a big hit with my family on Sunday. The taste of orange is sweet but not overpowering. The rolls didn't last long at my house! A Tale of a Flood, Mice, & Band Uniforms

I have a story of a flood, mice, and marching band uniforms. In the summer of 2008, Cedar Rapids, Iowa suffered a huge flood. You might remember seeing it on TV. Many businesses were completely flooded. My local high school, Linn Mar, had their marching band uniforms at the dry cleaners. About half of the band uniforms were damaged in the flood. The uniforms were cleaned and cleaned and cleaned many times. Unforunately all the cleaning left the uniforms discolored and old looking. The dry cleaners had insurance but the insurance did not cover replacement cost of the uniforms.

So there was a flood and then came the mice!! The summer of 2009, the band uniforms were at the dry cleaners again. This time the dry cleaners had a mice problem and the mice ate holes in about 50 of the uniforms.

The high school has decided to replace all the uniforms. If only the damaged unifroms were replaced, the colors would not completely match since the original uniforms are 7 years old. The cost of new uniforms is $75,000. The insurance settlement is $17,000.

The deadline for ordering new uniforms is March 15th. The school has been raising money but is coming up short. Great deal! You can get these for a Neopets fan or resell them on Ebay. I found these Neopet NeoCash cards on clearance at Target for 75% off . The $25 cards are now $6.25 and the $10 cards are $2.49. You have to look back in the toy section. The ones that I found were on an endcap with the toy clearance items.

NeoCash is used to buy virtual items on Neopets.com . My daughter was a big fan when she was younger. This is a great deal because the cards never go on sale. These are on sale only because they were a special boxed card.

Also you can sell these on Ebay. Click here to see a recent listing. Right now, prices have dropped a little from that listing because people are listing these special cards. The prices will probably increase again soon. Also NeoCash cards are not for sale in other countries, so international buyers look to Ebay to purchase them.
